Drugs are great, and can be literally lifesaving, and everyone should get treatment for their mental health issues But arguing that bad behavior is a result of your diagnoses is...not ideal

I am autistic with hyperfocus. I have severe trauma connected to domestic violence for three decades. Literally none of that is a reason for treating people badly. I treat people better because that's what I needed.

I can accept medication may cause instant change; what I struggle with is the assertion it’s same for the acquired habits and learned behaviours. Especially when diagnosed this late in life. Happy to be told otherwise by an appropriate professional though.

As someone who was diagnosed later in life & who saw an instant change from medication, I can confirm that it's not an excuse to be a dick. If he said it was the reason for erratic or impulsive behavior then I'd have agreed. That erratic/impulsiveness was dickish isn't ADHD.
