It really is impressive how much of right wing politics is literally just getting angry about things that never happenedhttps://twitter.com/ddale8/status/1386340800884269056 …

This stuff is completely imaginary. Biden has not proposed any limit on Americans’ meat consumption. What happened: 1) The Daily Mail ran an article that dishonestly connected Biden’s climate plan with a not-at-all-about-Biden study. 2) Others on the right just ran with this. pic.twitter.com/VRB52TPmUj

The same thing happens in all politics, obviously, but the amount of times you see an angry headline from a right-wing source and it's just not based on facts at all is quite surprising

@yourewrongabout just had an episode about this topic, of faux outrage over minor or fake stories.

It’s about 90-95% either fake or blown out of proportion. Voter fraud, “fake” pandemic, “dangerous” vaccines, “cancel culture”, green new deal, AOC “evil”......sigh. Are Australian politics better?

Falsehoods go away, but the engendered feeling (of hate) remains. This is the aim, in fact.

And falsehoods also remain in many people's minds as true. Unfortunately, lying is profitable.

this is an extremely successful tactic. 1) create controvesy 2) get attention 3) play it down 4) repeat with different subject

Vaccine "passports" do exist - for international travel in areas where diseases are endemic. A novel idea when they were introduced - in 1945 for smallpox, changed in 1967 for yellow fever.
