Here's an example of the idiocy of people like Gorski. A 0.42 SMD means that acupuncture is "theatrical placebo", but a 0.30 means that antidepressants obviously work! The industry shilling shows through loud and clear here. Gorski is a poser.https://twitter.com/therealrthorat/status/1190504719913046017 …

I have no respect for people like Gorski because he is toxic and personally attacks people he disagrees with. He's just a random cancer doctor who got Internet famous. He knows little about the topics he opines about. And often personally attacks those who do.

You know, that may all be true, and does not change the fact that you apply different standards to my attacks on Ioannidis and your own attacks on Gorski. Can we have some consistency here?

There is consistency. Gorski regularly insults and denigrates those he disagrees with. So I think it's fair game to sharply criticize him. He is toxic. Ioannidis is the opposite. He praises his critics, welcomes their criticism, and is never toxic.

"He praises his critics, welcomes their criticism, and is never toxic." Except, of course, if they are still graduate students at a less-known NZ University he couldn't even be bothered to spell correctly. Hold him up to the same mirror.

I knew you would bring up the lie about @GidMK. This seems to be a required mass lie/delusion. To pretend he attacked @GidMK. I have read the paper. He praised @GidMK. And went out of his way to excuse his sloppy work, explaining it was a complicated meta-analysis.

No, he didn't praise him. I read that attack. Ioannidis was punching down.

He did praise him. Said he was obviously a smart person and his Twitter feed contained intelligent statements and worthy causes. There was not a single attack or "punching down" in the whole thing.

You are flat-out lying. This is an ad hominem attack all the way through. - calling him an epidemiologist...but in double quotes. - calling out his lack of publications. Incredibly insulting in the academic world. - attempts to call him out for https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/what-the-heck-happened-to-john-ioannidis/ …pic.twitter.com/uH82VqUp3m

conflicts of interest. Ioannidis threw in a few complimentary words...but that doesn't offset the personal attacks. If it wasn't ok for Ioannidis to do this, why would that appendix disappear suddenly and quietly? Now, back to Fox News with your bad self.

Also, worth noting that some of the personal attacks were simply untrue. The appendix appeared to be, at best, poorly-researched and lied about myself and others in several places

FYI: If you've blocked @therealrthorat for his insults, then that's fine. He blocked me as well for debunking his inane claims on herd immunity, especially his claim that Sweden achieved herd immunity.
