I mean, seriously, we've been trying to 'fix' NCDs for decades, and while they are in theory somewhat preventable they are still a large and growing problem in most places in the world

Moreover, the increased risk from having, say, COPD on COVID-19 death is lower than the risk of being 50 vs 30 years old, so it's actually not true to say that chronic diseases are such a large contributor to COVID deaths
