This is your field and you haven’t seen Fauci say incorrect and wildly misleading things over the past year? Not even one? I could send clips all day. I don’t mean to insulthttps://twitter.com/TheEliKlein/status/1372588122857467908 …

Fauci argues that people who had Covid already have “no protection” from the South African variant, like they’ve “never been infected before” An incredible lie. Reinfections by SA variant are almost always asymptomatic or mild, bc of prior infection immunity Fauci is a menace pic.twitter.com/RLY8qWpT9d

How many Australian news conferences have you watched this year? Imagine I watch a roughly similar number from the US

As to the "no protection" comment, definitely poorly-phrased but in the tweet below the proper context is citing a study that did indeed show substantially reduced levels of protection

It's worth noting the context as well - most coronaviruses have waning immunity after 2-5 years, and it is entirely unsurprising that we would see reinfections (and potentially reinfections at a similar level of severity) over time

Anyway, maybe this reliance on years of epidemiological evidence is just "groupthink" that I've been "indoctrinated into" 😂😂😂

I’m not sure why all this other info is relevant. What’s relevant is Fauci’s testimony at this senate hearing. “Poorly phrased” is an incredibly subdued critique. You asked me for an example, I provided one, yet you still didn’t “happily point it out” this misleading information

The part that is misleading - that people had "no protection" is certainly worth correcting. Technically, it should be "no sterilizing protection" rather than none at all, which in context is quite clearly what he meant

I’ve been listening to Fauci speak all about these things and he’s never inferred what you just said is “clearly what he meant.” He always talks about the SA variant like people with immunity are going to be infected with a novel virus. It’s not even prevalent in the US!

Uh, it's clarified by you in the tweet below the video, where you then call the contradiction "lies". One of the issues with taking a 14-second clip as a broad position, I suspect

The clip isn’t taken out of context. You’re defending the indefensible, exactly as I said you would.

Like I said, the next tweet appears to give some context. And LOL I'm not really defending anything, I literally said the statement was "misleading" and "worth correcting"https://twitter.com/TheEliKlein/status/1373780096746684420?s=20 …

Fauci is doubling down on this EXCEPT this time acknowledging “some spillover immunity,” which, of course, directly contradicts his lie... How can this guy be for real? pic.twitter.com/CDa2fd7prg
