The antagonism towards vaccinating children is also pretty easy to explain, because many people have been saying that kids are essentially not at risk from COVID-19 at all and we don't vaccinate against things that are harmless

Covid denialism is based on personal risk assessment, as is anti-vaccination. They never agreed to the societal approach to begin with.
