Again, you are very upset when I describe the Great Barrington people as pawns of the right wing, even though the very name of the declaration proclaims it, but you have no problem with "industry shill". Nor, of course, can you refute Gorski ON SCIENCE, so you go ad hominem.

Here's an example of the idiocy of people like Gorski. A 0.42 SMD means that acupuncture is "theatrical placebo", but a 0.30 means that antidepressants obviously work! The industry shilling shows through loud and clear here. Gorski is a poser.https://twitter.com/therealrthorat/status/1190504719913046017 …

I have no respect for people like Gorski because he is toxic and personally attacks people he disagrees with. He's just a random cancer doctor who got Internet famous. He knows little about the topics he opines about. And often personally attacks those who do.

You know, that may all be true, and does not change the fact that you apply different standards to my attacks on Ioannidis and your own attacks on Gorski. Can we have some consistency here?

There is consistency. Gorski regularly insults and denigrates those he disagrees with. So I think it's fair game to sharply criticize him. He is toxic. Ioannidis is the opposite. He praises his critics, welcomes their criticism, and is never toxic.

"He praises his critics, welcomes their criticism, and is never toxic." Except, of course, if they are still graduate students at a less-known NZ University he couldn't even be bothered to spell correctly. Hold him up to the same mirror.

He also explained that most meta-analyses have errors. He mentioned he is a graduate student in explaining why the errors should not be heavily criticized. No one should expect a grad student on their first meta-analysis to get such a complicated one right.

Many people have agreed to lie about what was written and pretend it was an "attack". Because it's actually an implied critique of all the senior people who threw out science and backed an inexperienced grad student's analysis based on ideology, not science.

Andrew Lazarus, retired rōnin mathematician Retweeted Atomsk's Sanakan
It was so disgraceful the published has deleted Appendix 1 without notice. I am trying to find the original. In the meantime, here is another thread on the article. 1/https://twitter.com/AtomsksSanakan/status/1375935382139834373 …
Andrew Lazarus, retired rōnin mathematician added,
Atomsk's Sanakan @AtomsksSanakan1/J John Ioannidis published an article defending his low estimate of COVID-19's fatality rate. It contains so many distortions that I'll try something I've never done on Twitter for a paper: Go thru distortions page-by-page. This will take awhile.

Well, it included a number of outright untruths. For example, the attack claimed I was a "columnist" with an organisation that republished a single blog of mine in 2018, and then implied that I had financial conflicts of interest because of it

It also missed both my and my co-authors' previous published reviews, and ignored entirely our professional lives and qualifications. Neither of us is "just" a PhD student (not that this would make such an attack ok!)
