If someone said the risk of dying from covid for a healthy person under the age of 65 is “completely negligible,” what would you say?

We published a whole paper showing that it really isn't

Negligible a valueless word really but it is FAR less with no pre ex conds than say suicide Which you can avoid to some extent , you know, by not destroying peoples livelihoods & burdening them with poverty & despair And 0.0014% no pre existing conditions is pretty negligiblepic.twitter.com/eiAIu19ej3

Mr Dent’s TL is—well, I’ve looked so you don’t need to. Crack + pot comes to mind.

Also, suicide is lower if you completely disregard age and comorbidities too. It's almost as if health is complex or something

One could argue that suicide is nearly zero if you disregard comorbidities, because there pretty much has to be a pre-suicide mental health morbidity. There might be some "rational suicides" (escaping intractable pain or near end of life and such) but that is not typical.

Not quite accurate - only about 60-70% of people who suicide have a diagnosed/diagnosable mental health disorder - but yes, it's why this sort of comparison is extremely ignorant

Seems somewhat definitional. Not diagnosable prior to death doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

sure, but then you get the same effect in covid statistics.
