Whenever someone makes that argument to me I ask them to pick which loved one they’re willing to infect for the “good” of herd immunity. Unsurprisingly they never seem to answer the question.

I don't understand why they don't infect themselves. We know everything that can be possibly known about the virus and long term effects of infection....

Interestingly, it was a key assumption in anti-lockdown approaches that other people would be willing to take such risks and not instead withdraw at least partially from economic activity. Economists, to their credit, were generally agreed letting a disease run riot was bad.

Kulldorff, Levitt, and Bhattacharya were invited by DeSantis to teach in-person in Florida since Stanford & Harvard were fully remote. https://alachuachronicle.com/governor-desantis-roundtable-experts-advocate-for-normal-life-for-young-people/ …pic.twitter.com/py9WKZ8lA7

Did they go teach in person?

I was exposed to Covid in Feb 2020 along with my 50 co workers. Me and my family had symptoms within 10 days of exposure, some mild, some like a 1 week flu, tight chest for 3 weeks. We didn't go to the hospital, tests weren't available. WA state won't collect Covid antibody data
-
It seems that many don't actually listen to people who were actually exposed to covid and didn't require hospitalization. I'd be happy to take an antibody test if anyone would actually record the results in a database used by researchers or policy makers.

I'm more worried about people who seem to deny that natural immunity exists; not that there are those who purport that it is somehow preferable to vax immunity.

I was hopeful this mumbo-jumbo about "herd immunity advocates" had ceased. Haven't seen it in months.
-
You don't believe in 'Herd immunity advocates"? Or you don't think it is fair to point out that advocates are not participating in the risk they advocate?
