I think this is just a case of the right thing being said the wrong way... eating donuts is not wrong but on the other hand sugar is also a silent killer, especially in processed foods.

A donut once in a while never hurt anyone. But Americans don’t eat donuts just once in a while. We shouldn’t shame people for food choices, but health experts have a responsibility to be honest about how too much garbage food harms our health.

(I realize you’re not necessarily speaking from an American perspective, but Krispy Kreme is an American company. We have a big problem with “food” here.)
