Can I get a fact check ploise? @DrScienceLover @RRI_Directorpic.twitter.com/0T4t7emCpg
This book the source for the claim. I am hella suspicious.https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Count-Down/Shanna-H-Swan/9781982113667 …
Looks like the original source is the author of this paper, who in that book projects ~linearly~ the decrease in sperm count between 1973 and 2011 into the future Needless to say, that is, uh, not very sciencyhttps://academic.oup.com/humupd/article/23/6/646/4035689#98596711 …
also technology for sperm counting has imprved so much, you cant actually compare samples from back in the 70s
In the paper they argue that it's not a limitation, but their explanation doesn't sound super convincing to me statistically. Not sure why the error would be random if measurement used to be worsepic.twitter.com/vxCHeDfOFf
but alarmism
How great are my scientific contributions to this analysis

Ha. It’s exactly what I’m thinking. Scientists have to apply the pub test and the evidence.
