Your daily reminder that "I'm pro-vaccine except for THIS one" is literally the most common anti-vax line there is

So many replies missing the point. There's a big difference between common talking points and actions - most anti-vaccine advocates SAY they are only against one vaccine but then come up with similar arguments against ALL of them

Similarly, when they say that they're pro "informed" choice, they usually mean informed entirely by conspiracy blogs and ignoring all scientific evidence. That's why they're talking points, not philosophical positions

I'm pro-vaccine but I'm also anti-Elon Musk. Which is convenient, because he's becoming an antivax idiot in his efforts to downplay COVID.
-
Oh no, you've mentioned The Name. Now we will be inundated with humorless stans telling us about how great he is at building cars

“I’m pro-vaccine, but I just think more research needs to be done on vaccine safety”* *has no idea what research has been or is currently being done on vaccine safety

You know you're going to get antivax speech after this line, just like you know what you're getting after the line "I'm not a racist, but.."

Can we have I'm pro-vaccine but not one that only has four months of data? As I'm sure that is the case for many people, me included, when it comes down to any of these covid vaccines. Or perhaps just pro-vaccine out of phase III trials???
-
We had four months of data on AZ about four months ago so there's trial data since then. And with about 60 million doses administrated there's also a lot of pharmacovigilance data

I think when talking about antivaxxers, every effort should be made specifically to exclude people who are at high risk of a serious adverse reaction. Otherwise, we just swell the ranks of so-called antivaxxers, when in fact we can't change our bodies, regardless of our opinions.
-
I think it's generally understood that "I personally have a legitimate medical reason not to be vaccinated" =/= "I want people in general to stop getting vaccines." But maybe that's just me
