General lack of section structure. Talking about results in the intro. Methods just sort of screwn about. Unnecessary formulas or symbols (I'm sorry, you linear regression does not need to be manually specified in the manuscript. No learned anything from that).

I can’t recall ever seeing a methods section at the end of a paper. Although maybe that means I haven’t read enough research and/or am a lazy reader.

Depends on the journal, but a lot of the ones that publish some basic science do it. There's a specific reason for that - rodent studies (for example) can run to 20 pages of methods - but it's still frustrating when it's not necessary

Isn’t that exactly the same problem with online recipes? Blah blah blah for 3,000 words, then hidden at the bottom beneath 20 ads is “Ingredients:”

Pretty much, except worse because you've got the cake RIGHT THERE but you can't eat it without knowing how it was made because it might have spiders or glass inside it

Concluding with either 1. Though we have repeated these studies many times and don't reveal much, more research is needed to understand the findings better.

1. Do you publish a paper/S to get promoted OR 2. Do you get promoted because you published paper/S Chicken or Egg? What is your motivation?

Writing in third person. You found the thing, not the study. Also hedge words. You didn't possibly start to one day maybe find the thing. You found it.

Agreed, yet EVERY journal now insists...nightmare... Not to mention supplements...
