This happened before with Snopes. They paid almost nothing for a small company who could never actually fact check a fraction of FBs content to try, and when they inevitably failed FB could throw up their hands and say "it's impossible! We'll just do nothing"

What really grinds my gears is that all this endless, wasteful debate about whether the process is good or not detracts from the fact that FB HAS ENSURED IT ISN'T. They don't WANT to check facts, because it might damage their profit model
