That's also true :D ... I love how misleading it can get. But, the most important point to me, is that nobody have a clue how similar most responses are.
The main difference for non-lockdown responses isn't the depth of the response, but the timing. Japan's measures and mobility reductions in the summer weren't much different from USA sunbelt states and reduction in R was similar... but started a bit earlier in the curve.
This is Apple mobility data where the main signals are lockdown and when everyone goes on summer vacation and asks for directions... the Google data is a lot more useful
