The idea that COVID-19 is safe for anyone under 65 is a piece of misinformation that has been consistently spread by a bevy of world famous scientists which just goes to show that anyone can be disastrously wronghttps://twitter.com/statsepi/status/1365935384157446147 …

I still kind of find it hard to fathom how there were scientists who worked overtime to popularize this idea. Even harder to fathom how some are still at it, after all the damage it's caused. pic.twitter.com/ATaIjgrH7t

According to this paper, based on my age, my chance of dying from Covid-19, once infected, is 1%. That is a MUCH higher risk than almost all activities I engage in.https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs10654-020-00698-1 …

Recommend re-reading this. So many of the GBD talking points are weaved through this. 1. Herd immunity 2. Only effects old people 3. Saving economy 4. flu comparison https://www.statnews.com/2020/03/17/a-fiasco-in-the-making-as-the-coronavirus-pandemic-takes-hold-we-are-making-decisions-without-reliable-data/?utm_content=buffere08f7&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=twitter_organic …

NW is not a scientist, not a medical doctor, and doesn't know what she is talking about. Many people see "Dr." in front of her name and assume she is a medical doctor, thus giving her opinion more weight than deserved. She- and people like her- are dangerous.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naomi_Wolf  Scientist??? She has a doctorate in philosophy in English literarure. She is so far from a scientist it is not even funny.

And I would say some of the skillsets specified here such as data analysis is probably dubious judging from the conclusions she arrives to about Covid:https://www.linkedin.com/in/dr-naomi-wolf-324460b4 …

My favorite part is that she thinks you can opt to expose yourself to a low dose. Like you can walk up to an infected person and go "I'll take 100 coronaviruses please!"

If you Google IFR & @CDCgov it takes you to a website with low numbers compared to recent estimates (e.g. you paper), or even the cited papers it is based on. This is used by some to argue it is 'safe' for under 65s. Any idea what is going on here?
