        By far the biggest confusion is nonsense about ‘post hoc propter hoc’ so called fallacies, which have nothing whatsoever to do with correlation (which is involved in all cases of causation).

        I think the most common confusion is that the two are generally inseparable. There's this sort of nihilism that anything you can't experimentally control can't be proven causal.

        That a corporation that does well should also have a share price that does well. Plenty of times these are not even correlated, but insofar as they are over the very long run, it still is not causal at the core. The causal thread in markets is super tenuous and goes both ways.
