I'm also wondering where they registered the trial. Couldn't find it on http://clinicaltrials.gov , only a couple of others. I didn't know that the Lancet (!) would accept an unregistered study. This stinks.

Anyway, with the authors' update on PubPeer it no longer really matters. If it's a prospective cohort study, whether they had all 8 wards fully set up on March 1st is immaterial, because the assignment was not random regardless

Exactly. Still, please do not apply again your conspiranoic thinking to brown country hospitals. Apply them also to white country hospitals. Or to none.

Reading this again, I can't avoid thinking that I was discussing with colleagues the doses and timing of dexamethasone administration in severe COVID-19 patients in early March. Most Spanish hospitals had incorporated dexamethasone in their routine protocols by the end of March.
