From memory, the only crime that has gone up since 2000 is sexual assault/rape and that is more to do with increased reporting than an actual increase in incidence
...for both men and women, I suspect it's not unlikely that there have been fewer sexual violent crimes but because there has been a large societal push since 2000 to report and charge offenders that the reported number has increased

That's a comforting thought Health Nerd but we should always be wary of those thoughts It used to be said that the rise in non-domestic assault was just greater willingness to report the offence. I don't know what those who said this make of the fall in assault now.
