outcomes
and
not
part
of
a
global
success
story

I’m not denying that! This isn’t like trying to move faster than the speed of light.

But it comes at tradeoffs. One of those might be time to execute, when we’re already progressing to vaccine deployment. One of those might be a huge economic hit if you import a lot, which yes, does matter.

Surely the answer is it's solvable. The question is what the solution would look like and whether it's worth the cost (and whether that answer is the same now, with high internal covid and a vaccination campaign in progress, to what it would have been in early 2020).
