I suspect it's because that if you do accept the reality, it's then difficult to find a viable alternative to government interventions.

To my reading those opposed don't really offer _any_ alternative plan anyway! They're not so much 'alternative plan' as contrarian about one widely-used element of plans.

And what a luxury - both denying its existence and disagreeing with government interventions - here in Australia where our health workers aren’t overwhelmed and falling sick as they are around the world. I’d prefer some more balance than some are demonstrating but also grateful.
