“Lockdown” covers such a broad spectrum of measures.

They clearly do work though because every time we have one the cases decline and the trend starts going the other way. The issue is that they have never been applied long enough to get down to a figure where it can be stringently contained

Lockdowns definitely work. In Melbourne - we were in lockdown for 111 days. Had a similar number of cases as the UK end of July when we went into lockdown. Following lockdown we had 40 days of 0 cases until they started letting in international flights. Now under control too:pic.twitter.com/aqXz8LT42n

We can start this debate trying to explain the difference between Norway and Sweden. Very similar countries.pic.twitter.com/tMw4U5wuM9

That comparison is unscientific and makes no sense. Compare Sweden to Sweden.pic.twitter.com/dtWZqbSLBm

What we have now isn't a lockdown....it's 2/3 of the population doing the right thing and 1/3 doing as they please. In a real lockdown there would be consequences for the 1/3...
-
No. It's more like two thirds being able to lockdown and one third having to go to work either as key workers or because they can't afford to stop work. The scandal is the government refusing to adequately support self-isolation.

It’s even easier to not lock down, say you did, then use that as proof locking down doesn’t work
