Locking down and restricting entire populations over a long period for a very infectious virus is an experiment. The onus of cost-benefit proof is on the purveyors of the experiment. So far there has been no proof. It has just been "we're really smart", so trust us.

Not quite correct - lockdowns have been used successfully in other disease outbreaks in other countries and at other times. It's a recognised and proven intervention - we're just seeing it for the first time in lots of other countries.

I don't know which anti-restriction campaigners you're following, but most feel the same way. To the extent they disagree it's about the lack of evidence and arbitrariness. Nevertheless, thank you for some much needed nuance.
