Study compares effects of more or less restrictive non-pharmaceutical measures on #COVID19
After *adjustment* they "find no clear, significant beneficial effect of more restrictive NPI on case growth in any country.

The authors spend many words describing the study's limits. But I am drawn to this data b/c more restrictive lockdowns don't seem to correlate well with COVID case growth. And they have potential harm--especially to the non-Zoomers. I dare you to engage on the merits.

If you say it is invalid b/c one of the authors was wrong about something in the past, you fail critical appraisal 101.

This study is riddled with confounders and made up methods. Countries cases count are affected by many variables other than just NPI. I am amazed thst such a poor obs study could use causal language in their conclusion.

Grin. At the serious risk of whataboutism Could we not say “this study is riddled with confounders and made up methods” about lots of studies (virus and non virus) that pass muster in higher level journals.

Not many studies cherry-pick quite as impressively selectively as this one tho! A sample size of 8 is an...interesting choice
