For the record, I think that there are definitely places where significant measures against COVID-19 are probably not as important (i.e. sub-Saharan Africa) as well as places where they are likely beneficial (i.e. Australia)

This is not to say that African countries should not attempt to control COVID-19, but simply that the cost-benefit equation varies depending on where you are in the world

Do we REALLY want to? Make it clear it is cost effective to the treasury and of course it will happen. Let’s make this argument

How can we not want to? The more time goes by, it becomes a question of how much worse is enough and the answer always remains the same: we must. I want the life you and others in your situation are living. Enough with this dance of regrets and mistakeshttps://twitter.com/lalytatweets/status/1348777605793771521?s=21 …

Thats not hard to answer. No. Half of america and most of it's government is full steam ahead for ignoring it.

I think, on the basis we accept a certain level of (for example) flu deaths per annum, this will become a much more difficult question in coming years. Right now it’s easier, but once we’re at herd immunity through vaccination/infection it’ll be a more difficult conversation.

Alternatively, we could/should ask if half-measures are even worth the effort.

Your argument would be strengthened if it were acknowledged that suppressing covid is *easier* in Oz than elsewhere. Canada sees 100k trucks/week cross into it. By Oz's rules, these drivers would be quarantined for 2 weeks each trip. Not gonna happen here. I could go on.

Donyou think Australia doesn't have trucks mate? Or planes and freight Como t in? Or people working across borders? Or frikkin massive internal land borders? Humans are innovative. When they want to be. You're making excuses not presenting cogent argument.

We can not rely on government. Too impacted and slow. Get Vitamin D levels up ourselves..most can afford this. Have items on zelenko protocol on hand..again, most can afford. Open windows. Walk instead of bus if you can. Wear masks and shields and hair coverings if high risk.
