Yeah, but we locked down in July (winter) for 4 months. Wanna try again?

No. You seem pretty resolute. Covid is ongoing. @RemindMe_OfThis 3 months

It won’t change the fact that you are wrong when you asserted covid was under control because it’s summertime in Oz rather than the fact we acted quickly, locked down and masked up. Meanwhile U.K. has 60,000 new cases and 1,325 deaths. Australia has 11 cases and 0 deaths.

You live in the middle of the ocean dear. I can watch the first three seasons of Game Of Thrones in the time is takes to travel to you. The first season from Jakarta. You can literally swim the English channel to France.

Yep, I was born in the UK and lived there until 6 yrs ago. Here in Oz we also have population density in cities and towns. However you were arguing that seasonality not population density was why Oz had so few cases. Agree, there’s many factors - but the strict lockdown worked.

We have strict lockdown now. Our third nationwide lockdown. Some cities in UK have technicaly never left lockdown since March.

My concern is that messaging from Johnson, Hammond etc was (and still is) woefully inadequate and inconsistent. One lockdown was barely a month long and many people didn’t follow the rules, Cummings included. As I said, we locked down at 700 daily cases and that took 4 mths.

Yep. I was born and raised in London, am a dual citizen, and while Sydney is different it's absurd to say that population density is such a big defining factor. Concerted government action was required to control cases

Hi from Melbourne! Was born in Boro, but lived in Yorkshire, Lancs, Cheshire, and 20-odd years in London (Balham, Hackney, Bethnal Green). Dan Andrews did a pretty good job in difficult circumstances - didn’t shy away from unpopular decisions & gave daily pressers with CMO.

Not absurd. Pop density is compounded here. You're relative wealth to space ratio in UK - we live on top of each other unless we are rich. Not saying it is THE factor but certainly A factor in keeping distance.
