Just to say,it isn’t lockdown.Not in the true sense. Airports open,a lot of shops open and people moving about fairly freely. I see 6 weeks of this then harsher lockdown because it’s not working

Herd immunity is the inevitable outcome; some jurisdictions will inflict enormous needless suffering on their inhabitants before/after that is achieved; some won't.

And some Governments are doing all they can to protect their citizens until herd immunity can be SAFELY achieved through vaccination. There are options beyond Westminster-style repetitive destructive fuckery OR infecting your whole population. UKGOV just hasn't tried them.
