"Work from home is an endless holiday for workers!" Actually, a number of large corporations have permanently dismantled their offices after productivity spiked while employees worked from home

My friend works at a tech giant and they've gotten rid of all their desks at the main office and turned it into meeting space that you have to book in advance. The entire company works from home now

Not to say that WFH is some perfect solution, clearly there are trade-offs, but it's simply a display of enormous ignorance to blather on about workers enjoying their long WFH holiday when the facts don't support such nonsense

The downside is there is no separation. Home/work life has collided. I have definitely been more productive for work, but my home feels like it is in constant chaos.

Can work for some businesses. Pretty terrible for creative team work. It's not so much that people aren't working at home, they're just not working together and so you miss all those genius collaborative moments. Practically impossible to recreate digitally.

My son is a software engineer for a company in SF, has WFH for ~ 8 years. Until the pandemic he worked from Airbnb's around the world. He says it's about schedule and having a good workspace that isn't "homey". He overworks at times but that's his personality too.

Do you have any data on this? My project metrics suggest production down significantly, which matches what I've heard from others.
