Unless and until such coverage is achieved ( with vaccines that remain as effective as early data show) it is imperative to suppress virus transmission in the general population with the measures that work. This is the opposite of #GBD’s fanciful “focused protection” wo vaccinehttps://twitter.com/MartinKulldorff/status/1339839182571749377 …

As soon as we discover these "measures that work", and work out ways to implement them without poorly quantified (and quite possibly dramatic) public health costs, we'll all be on the same page and these retweet arguments will be able to take a pause!

It is fascinating to see someone say this as an Australian. Plenty of examples here!

Exactly! This is what I was getting at in this thread... We have solved their biggest problem but nobody seems to want to know or they all just think it is too hardhttps://twitter.com/TrotStats/status/1342699704648228865?s=19 …

Yep plenty of people with first hand experience of how to beat something most of the world thinks is unbeatable. Sutton should really have been the most in demand person in US and UK media since October. He led the team that solved their biggest problem.

I need to translate. Wes was referring to Australia as one example of many countries with poorly quantified results and high collateral cost of those measures are equally poorly measured or ignored (covered up). @WesPegden

I'd love to see any evidence whatsoever for any of that tbh. Sounds like wild speculation to me

Yes, so many lessons we could learn about how to easily translate this experience. How did you quickly restructure your economy to avoid a dependence on international land freight? We have something like 15,000 trucks per day cross at Laredo, Texas alone.

Step one would be to dig a substantial trench between Texas and the rest of the world. It could even work better than a wall!
