What the plan explicitly calls for is a herd immunity approach with some recommendations to do things that every aged care centre in most of the world has been doing since March. In other words, no real measures to protect anyone, just a total reopening of everything

I mean, cool, if that's their position we can discuss it, but the obvious lie that GBD has anything novel about protecting the elderly in it is just a waste of time for all involved

The GBD has been a dreadful lie from the start. What’s more interesting is what lies behind the ‘respected’ academics who have been pushing it so hard...

It really feels weird talking about "focused protection" in reference to measures intended to protect a group of predominantly community-dwelling people that comprise anything from a third to almost a half the population of most western nations. "Focused." Pfft.

What I find interesting is that the very people who are shouting for “focused protection” are the same ones arguing that we should be allowed to visit our elderly relatives in care homes or be in hospital with our ill family members. Makes no sense at all.

Makes no sense if by protection you mean total isolation. Difference btw u and others is others want alternatives to total isolation that still protect.
