The argument may be dumb but how have you refuted it?

I think the argument is that hospitals can clear patients and eventually vaccinate if we delay enough- we see in the US what happens when covid moves too quickly, and contact tracing only works with slow spread. Of course, people differ on whether the cost of delays are worth it.
