There'd be a lot of confusion about why the dude who was crucified is now wearing a red outfit and a big white beard.

The alien would have no way to gauge the relative importance of the guy in the red suit and the baby in the manger. It would seem like two unrelated things were happening at once. Also, could an alien even comprehend the notion of a holiday?

If he got to see the people living in misery like in refugee camps first, then our decadent lifes, he would think we are a horrible race who predates on its own kind

in 2020, planned human sacrifice with a trickster bringing gifts for the afterlife, and the old movies as a form of remembrance

Why kill the trees, instead of celebrating them alive in the Woods ? Wait, all the decorations are not to celebrate the trees ?

no, clearly they are for the cats, our supreme overlords...we bring the dead trees inside so cats don't need to go out in the cold at this time of year (another Northern Hemisphere tradition strangely copied in the south) #Christmas101

I once asked the same question regarding nude cabarets. Might they think it’s some strange religious ceremony?
