So weird how the COVID-19 casedemic became a hospitaldemic which then turned into a deathdemic
Almost as if false positives were never really an issue at all

A pretty decisive rebuke to the false-positive PCR crowd: Mass post-outbreak PCR testing in Wuhan showed 300 positives out of 9,865,404 tested, or 0.003%. I'd say that puts a pretty hard ceiling of 0.003% on the PCR false positive rate.https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-020-19802-w …

I think this is where a lot of people are getting confused. Where you state if all 40 positives in 10,000 were false, they see that as 100% false positives and discount the number of tests.

@thephysicsgirl 1/1000 positives false wow makes sense but yeah there has to be weird contamination essentially to get a PCR false positive... false negatives though and false results from other tests much more common

If anything, the headline is an understatement. False positives are like minor lottery tickets.
