The media forgot to explain that the number of false positives drops with higher incidence, and at some point is exceeded by false negatives. This is trivial for math literate people, but I would bet that all others are not aware of that.

What hasn't been recognized yet is that all of the demics were preceded by a very real and eons-old assholedemic...

It's infuriating. What is wrong with people?!
I posted something on my Facebook wall yesterday explaining the risks about meeting up over Xmas, to help my friends, to make sure they were fully informed. The response. 'We're not bad people for wanting to see our families'

I can relate to this, one of my friends commented that I was 'captain Buzzkill' whenever I try to chat about it (mainly because I'm anxious about the recklessness of it all really) now, whilst it's an amusing nickname, the concerns are real, but people don't want to talk about it?

Logically, with the numerous tests that Australia has been doing and the extremely low number of positives recorded (many days they record 0 for 20000+ tests), I’d say we have safely proven that false positives are not a problem.

They are a problem, perhaps not as much as others make out. But I have real world experience of this. Please just accept that it does happen

They clearly aren’t a problem though. They might occur in a very small portion of cases but... see Australia etc...
