I think people are now forgetting some of the things he's said this year tbh. For months he maintained that COVID-19 was only as dangerous as seasonal influenza. He promoted the theory that t-cell cross-reactivity would significantly lower the herd immunity threshold

Under 50 Covid has lower fatality than flu. For kids fatality is much lower. Need to acknowledge. Seem to have forgotten point of bending the curve: lots of susceptible people because virus is new means lots of illness overwhelming healthcare. Ioannides not to blame.

Actually, given the exponential gradient of IFR for both influenza and COVID-19, COVID-19 is more fatal for almost all age groups aside from children, for whom COVID-19 and influenza are comparably dangerous
