I've to think ability to work from home plays some role. It's something a significant share of people in rich countries can do that seems much less tenable even in middle-income countries

Agree. But based on this and the other evidence you say is out there, totally agree the lowly 10-20% threshold was way too optimistic. Still I’ve been curious if the Britton et al/Gomes et al mechanism can bring it down a bit.
