To be pedantic, while tragic, I don't think you can blame the law of large numbers. Usually LLN refers to the mathematical statement that if you perform enough experiments the observed average will converge to the "true" average.

Yes but he's talking about the Second Law of Large Numbers. Which is that as numbers increase, amounts get bigger. To sum it up.
