I don't think so. The direct antiviral effects may be unhittable, based on my PK estimates and others in the literature (depends on validity of Caly et al. post-treatment Vero cell experiment). However, ivermectin is also a potent anti-inflammatory and T cell immunomodulator.

Unlike hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin has had successful RCTs in monotherapy. Moreover, every single one was successful, and they span all stages of the disease course.

Yes, see: https://twitter.com/__ice9/status/1337946159449567232?s=19 … I actually agree that the average quality of some of these studies is rather low. I have suspicions that at least one may turn out to be fabricated. But I do not believe they all could be at this point.

Anyway, at this point ivermectin has among the largest number of RCTs and observational studies for any COVID-19 treatment available. https://twitter.com/__ice9/status/1337945790866714628?s=19 … Every single one was successful.

I was having a read of that very misleading website just now lol. I would be ~hugely~ skeptical of their reporting of the actual trials. I also agree that there are several that are, if not fraudulent, at the very least enormously suspicious

Success is a useless measure. Can you find a single well-done RCT? Because thus far I honestly cannot

What I don't understand is why there hasn't been a good RCT done on this if it's being used so widely. HCQ must've had a dozen RCTs, all failures. Why is there not at least one on ivermectin? Are there plans for any? I guess we need a Trump endorsement to get some solid evidence.

The difficulty in picking though all this may lie in avoiding the temptation to just tear through one or two particular papers, enumerating everything that one would or should have done differently if one had more time/resources/standing, vs. trying to assess the totality.

Sure, but the problem is that dozens of terrible studies are as useless for the purposes of evidence collection as a single terrible study
