What a fascinatingly American perspective. My prediction: most countries and airlines (esp. those with low pandemic burden) will mandate proof of vaccination upon entryhttps://twitter.com/VPrasadMDMPH/status/1338241724624162816 …

Some interesting public health background here is that in Australia COVID-19 is now sometimes referred to as "the American virus" because that is where the vast majority of our cases are coming from

Neither side is being convincing here. I want the vaccine, but why do people who don't want it need to get it to, say, fly on a plane? The argument needs to be made clearly, now, by experts, so that we're convinced by the time it matters.

Pretty simple - you can spread the disease. In Australia, the path that the federal govt has tentatively indicated is that the mandatory 2-week quarantine will be maintained for people without proof of vaccination status (at their own expense, with compulsory testing)

Still not convincing. They can't spread the disease to the people who chose to get vaccinated. So again, why must they be required to vaccinate? I'm truly not trying to be a dick here. The argument just needs to be much more clearly formulated than you've done.

Not everyone can be vaccinated, vaccines are not 100% effective. It also means that countries (like Australia) with low case numbers would have to vaccinate their entire population, an arduous task, before allowing international travel to resume

To put it another way, why should I, as an Aussie, be put at risk because people from the US don't like vaccines?

I'm not clear how you, an Aussie, are being put at risk. Aren't you going to be vaccinated? Protect-the-nonvaccinable is more convincing, but needs to be shown more clearly: Are we expecting the US will fail to reach herd immunity?
