But it exaggerates and tells untruths, no? Normally you’re picking out those things. UK locked down instead of letting it rip. And GBD doesn’t mention letting it rip anywhere either. People will be dismissing this thread on that basis.

The GBD is a fairly explicit "let it rip" strategy, although the authors have tried to walk back that sentiment somewhat now that it's proven so disastrous everywhere

I don't think that's true. I used to think it was but I think the key thing was the delayed response.

Because of it people had to accept what is happening, and it pushed the Overton window of what is normal to a new center.
