      Health Nerd Retweeted Martin Kulldorff

As ever, the GBD recommendation comes without any evidence that it will reduce death rates, and the discussion of people who are 'at risk' completely ignores the scientific fact that they make up ~30%+ of the population in developed countries@https://twitter.com/MartinKulldorff/status/1337379606739841036 …

@MartinKulldorff you may write that the GBD is not a herd immunity strategy, but in practice the obvious reality is that the two are indistinguishable in everything but branding 🤷‍♂️

GBD is most definitely a herd immunity strategy. They've said as much in TV and print interviews. @SunetraGupta, a theoretical epidemiologist (emphasis on the theoretical), has stated this explicitly.

@MartinKulldorff specifically cited North Dakota as an example of the right approach to take. Of course this was in September, not sure he'd make such a pronouncement now

Gupta gave an interview where she stated the IFR was 0.05% and she is one of the people behind the 20% herd immunity misinformation. She has zero credibility in my mind. Jay keeps using the Santa Clara/Ioannidis 0.26 IFR, better but come on.

I am once again asking these people to acknowledge that COVID presents a risk to some young people and suggest any measures to actually protect working class people of color being forced into unsafe working conditions! Otherwise be honest & call it Forced Infection.pic.twitter.com/NAI0VDtdmL
