I think it shows how messed up our perception of risk is. We'd rather hand out huge risks to many others than take on a small perceived risk to ourselves. And it is perceived, because the vaccine's side effects arenowhere near as threatening as the disease, even for the healthy

One thing I’m keeping my cynical eye on is the idea that vaccination could be used to bolster “wild” herd immunity - ie, use limited supplies to vaccinate the more vulnerable and allow natural transmission to otherwise continue

At this point I can only conclude that people are just using this as an excuse to do what they want to now, rather than hold off several more months while the process of mass vaccination takes place.
