        Holy shit. The US crude case fatality rate is about 2%. There are 200,000 people testing positive every day and rising. That means 4000 people dying a day 2-3 weeks from now baked in. Horrific. #COVID19

        You're not wrong. It's been ~1.8% of reported cases for the past several months, but with hospital capacity issues across most of the country, it wouldn't be surprising to see the CFR creep back up.

        This makes me so sad. People with expertise warned us for months. We can easily see how we compare with other countries. Yet, somehow, people still aren't taking public health seriously and it's still political signaling to many.
