It was much easier to be funny about bad science when it was just being used to sell people blueberries and not killing thousands through misinformation

Similar cognitive improvements were found in children and older adults given blueberry powder. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32747995/1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -
One of the things I really love about all the blueberry studies is that, unlike much research, the conflicts of interest are just so beautifully obvious. The WBA funds at least 2 studies a year that show blueberries are magical, they're usually terrible researchpic.twitter.com/U9GBkrWjhF

God I do love these studies. They ran, by my count, ~10 psychological assessments, found no difference in 8 of them, but since two had a tiny, marginally significant effect they concluded that blueberries were magic for the brain

I mean, this paragraph is just a wonderful example of salami-slicing. The overall impact of blueberries was nil, the impact of blueberries at most time-points was nil, but there was a single minute where blueberries had a marginal effect so that's what's in the conclusion!pic.twitter.com/p1NgJYJTtB

we pointed out some of this in a letter to the same authors' systematic review, nothing has changed :( https://academic.oup.com/biomedgerontology/article-abstract/75/8/e24/5728632?redirectedFrom=fulltext …pic.twitter.com/Zxa3ZXRcHv

If your product doesn't work, just run studies on it showing no effect but report them as if they were positive every time!
