Just deleted the tweet that said that this study "rules out" a large benefit - I meant to say that it makes such a large benefit much less likely, but the language was imprecise and I don't want people to misunderstand

I'm fascinated by all the people replying to this thread with "the study could never work because they only gave vitamin D to people once hospitalized!" because if that's true then the claim that vitamin D would treat acute+severe COVID-19 infections never made sense anyway...

What about for prevention though? Vitamin D strengthens the immune system, but that's no help once the immune system is already compromised.
