This coming Thursday, Thursday the 3rd of December, is mine & my partner's 15 year anniversary. We were supposed to be having a wedding style commitment ceremony followed by a weekend in Bruges. Obviously we decided a while ago to postpone the hol but we hoped for the ceremony.

Then we realised we would probably need to postpone the ceremony but we thought we might be able to have a weekend get away somewhere in the UK. Somewhere that we wouldn't run into too many people. Then we realised that couldn't happen so maybe we could have a spa getaway in Liv.

No travel required. Then we entered tier three restrictions in Liverpool and later a national lockdown. With the restrictions to end on the 2nd of December - the day before our anniversary. So we scrapped the spa idea. We might be allowed to go out for a nice dinner but...

I'm not sure it's a great idea to go out to restaurant the weekend after lockdown ends. So we're stuck. Celebrating 15 years together - half my lifetime (my 30th was in the first lockdown) - at home. We've ordered food from

Try to make it special. We're going to make our own cocktails. Maybe go for a nice long walk with the dogs. But if anyone has some really cool ideas of how they've had special celebrations during lockdown let me know because God this year has been bad.

For my wife's 30th we organised a socially distant painting afternoon in the park during lockdown in Sydney and then it poured with rain the entire time so we cancelled and ate slightly soggy cake at home
