The corollary, of course, is that we won't see deaths attributable to the enormous rise in cases for another few weeks, and that hospitalizations from the record-breaking days of new cases are still coming in

Another corollary that's quite depressing is that deaths will probably continue to rise for at least a few weeks after cases have plateaued, and given the exponential rise in cases it's quite likely that this will be at >3,000 deaths per day

BUT case counts are totally not reliable, nor are raw hospitalization
