I've had the flu twice. Even if it were just "as bad" as the flu, I wouldn't want it. The flu sucks! I wish people would wake-up and accept COVID for what it is, deadly and if you survive, life altering.

Great tweet & thread! I want to add the Died ‘with’ Covid (+/-Co-morbidities) or ‘from’ Covid. Simultaneously undermines the human experience of Covid & its controlpic.twitter.com/NFR7pG4kj7

Most people conflate the common cold with the flu. The cold rarely causes fever in adults, mild body aches at most. It's mostly annoying, lots of nasal secretion (runny nose). The flu is a whole different thing. Fever, often high. Body aches, fatigue, horrible dry cough.

Reminds me of a really bad take in Wired from earlier in the pandemic essentially ‘at worst it’s no worse than 1918 flu’. Well that’s OK then.
