I’m confused. I wear a KN95 mask all day at work. I work with the same 6 people at my Center with 7 staff that are always in a huge warehouse with bay doors opening a closing constantly. My Drivers, all 10 of them in masks 100% and mostly on the road. So only 20% reduced risk?

My read of @GidMK ’s article they posted above: the study is only about how much difference it makes for a government to ask (not mandate) people to wear masks during a lockdown. Nothing really about masks themselves. Masks are very effective if everyone else is wearing them.

Sad part people will not take the time to read this wonderful article to be educated...they prefer nodded titles to defend arguments no reading or research

Yeah, based on the title of the article and due to the fact that few will read the content (which says pretty much the opposite of what the title says) there’s going to be a lot of misinformed people on Twitter!

If you ask my 7 year old, she would say that masks are not meant to protect you from catching the disease, but it will protect others from catching it from you If ask her about this study, I think her answer would be: duh!

Thank you for this very enlightening text. Hand cleaning, use of mask and social distancing are still essential in reducing infections with sars-Cov-2.

Plus I thought mask-wearing was mainly to prevent spreading if you have it, rather than protecting you from others. This study done in lockdown Denmark couldn’t have looked at that?
