This is actually quite dodgy data and conflicts with London Ambulance reports, although not covering the same area. I wouldn't give this much credibility

People commiting suicide as a result of external stress is a myth anyway Even in poorest of the poor countries or in war times, suicide rates are usually not elevated. People commit S because of depression which is most often "dying from inside" and not due to external pressure

A couple of voices i heard during the first lockdown claimed that there was a lot less stress due to the reduced social interaction... bettering the depression. I wouldn't take that for granted, and it will depend on the person - but it's something to look at, as well.

Sadly there is a counter example in Belgium. Noting we are now on
#Lockdown2 (whilst not referred to as such, non-essential businesses are closed, triggering economic hardship & knock-on mental health risks + the care sector has been overwhelmed)

Countries with a big GDP hit are at greater risk of collateral damage. Those also are likely to have a bigger direct health hit i.e. covid19-specific mortality i.e. because the GDP hit is Lockdown-consequent e.g. Belgium, Spain, Italy, France, UK (in the West)
